Immigration support for organisations moving talent into the Philippines.
Bringing foreign talent into a Philippine operation, whether a single specialist hire or a growing international team, involves immigration requirements that run alongside your organisation's own hiring, assignment and compliance processes. Foreign Immigration Services works directly with employers, coordinating the immigration side of these matters for one employee or across an organisation's broader foreign workforce.
One Immigration Partner for Your Foreign Workforce
Whether your organisation is bringing in a single specialist or coordinating immigration matters across a growing foreign workforce, FIS can act as a central point of coordination between your organisation and the foreign nationals you employ. We assess the appropriate pathway, coordinate the requirements between employer and employee, organise the supporting documentation, and manage the immigration process on your behalf, so your organisation is not starting from scratch with every hire, transfer or renewal. Your team can also track the progress of its transactions through the FIS Client Portal.
How We Can Assist
- Assessing the appropriate immigration and work-authorisation pathway for a proposed hire, transfer or assignment
- Coordinating the information and documentation required from both the employer and the foreign national
- Identifying whether a 9(g) Pre-Arranged Employment Visa or a specialised corporate pathway applies
- Preparing, organising and reviewing supporting documentation for apparent gaps before submission
- Coordinating employment-permit and work-authorisation requirements, including liaising with the Department of Labor and Employment where an Alien Employment Permit is a prerequisite
- Liaising with the Bureau of Immigration on your organisation's behalf, where representation is permitted
- Following up on matters, keeping your organisation informed, and supporting renewals and continuing immigration requirements
9(g) Pre-Arranged Employment Visas
The 9(g) Pre-Arranged Employment Visa is a principal immigration pathway for foreign nationals taking up pre-arranged employment with a Philippine-registered employer. Depending on the circumstances, the employment and immigration process may also involve an Alien Employment Permit or other applicable work-authorisation requirements. FIS can coordinate the relevant requirements with the sponsoring employer and foreign national, including the documentation and connected employment and immigration processes involved.
Specialised Pathways for Qualifying Corporate Personnel
Depending on the organisation, the employee's role and the applicable regulatory framework, a corporate assignment may involve an immigration pathway other than 9(g). Foreign executives and specialised personnel employed by a multinational company's regional or area headquarters in the Philippines, or by an enterprise registered with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), the Board of Investments (BOI) or another investment-promotion agency, may qualify for a distinct visa category, depending on the employer's registration, the employee's role and the applicable rules. Employer registration alone does not automatically extend to every employee. FIS can assess whether a specialised pathway appears applicable to your organisation's circumstances and coordinate the corresponding immigration requirements.
Ongoing Immigration Support for Your Foreign Workforce
Where an organisation employs more than one foreign national, or expects to hire, transfer or renew foreign employees over time, FIS can act as a standing point of contact rather than a one-off resource. This can include onboarding new foreign hires, coordinating upcoming renewals or extensions across your existing foreign employees, and managing several immigration matters at different stages at the same time.
Common Situations We Handle
- Hiring a foreign national for a role with your organisation
- Transferring an executive or specialist into a Philippine operation
- Bringing technical or specialised personnel into a Philippine-based team
- Coordinating immigration matters for several foreign employees at once
- Renewals or extensions coming due across your foreign workforce
- Determining whether a 9(g) or specialised corporate pathway applies to a particular role

What We May Need From You
From Your Organisation
- Company and registration information relevant to the role
- Details of the role, assignment or transfer
- Employment contract, assignment letter or other employer-issued documentation, where applicable
- Relevant PEZA, BOI or other registration details, where applicable
From the Foreign National
- Passport and current immigration status
- Qualifications or employment records relevant to the role, where applicable
- Existing Philippine immigration or work-authorisation documentation, where applicable
The specific documents required depend on the pathway, your organisation's structure and the foreign national's circumstances. We will confirm exactly what applies once we understand your situation.
Need More Hands-On Support? Depending on your organisation's circumstances, FIS can provide additional support alongside a corporate immigration matter, including priority internal document preparation for time-sensitive matters, document collection and delivery, translation and certification coordination, and in-person assistance where available and legally permitted. Tell us what level of support your organisation needs when you enquire. Government processing times remain subject to the relevant authority.
Managing Foreign Personnel in the Philippines?
Tell us about your organisation's immigration needs, whether a single hire or a broader foreign workforce. FIS can assess the circumstances, identify the appropriate pathway, and discuss how we can coordinate the process for your organisation.
How do we know whether a role needs a 9(g) visa or a different pathway?
This depends on the role, the employer's registration status and the foreign national's circumstances. Tell us about the position and we will assess which pathway may apply.
Can FIS assist with 9(g) Pre-Arranged Employment Visa applications?
Yes. FIS can coordinate the 9(g) process with your organisation and the foreign national, including the employment-permit and visa documentation involved.
Can FIS support more than one foreign employee, or ongoing immigration needs?
Yes. FIS can coordinate immigration matters across several foreign employees and act as your organisation's ongoing point of contact for renewals, new hires and other continuing requirements.
Do PEZA or BOI-registered employers use a different immigration pathway?
Some PEZA, BOI and other qualifying employers have access to a specialised visa category outside the standard 9(g) process, depending on the employee's role and the applicable rules. We can assess whether this may apply to your organisation.
